Jennifer likes to have something exciting on the horizon, which may be part of the reason why she is so dedicated to her bucket list. This year, she hopes to cross off “Run a 5K” (she signed up for the Fleet Feet 4+ Miler and is currently in training), “Learn to Play a Guitar,” and “Ride a Mechanical Bull.”
She loves impressionist art, reading, photography, crafts and spending time with her family and friends – especially her husband, Lee, and their two little girls, Caroline and Charlotte.
Although she is the newest addition to our team, Jennifer’s involvement with UNC Lineberger began years ago when she served as a volunteer for one of UNC Lineberger’s annual signature events – the Beach Ball.
“I lost my grandmother to pancreatic cancer, my grandfather was recently treated for lung cancer and another close family member has CLL. I also have three friends – all in their early 30s – who are living with a cancer diagnosis," says Jennifer. "Cancer affects 1 out of 2 men and 1 out of 3 women; it’s everywhere and I want to do something about it. While I may not be a scientist performing groundbreaking research or a physician diagnosing and treating patients, each day I do what I can to aid the fight against cancer, one event at a time.”
